“Ciao!”
That’s the friendly greeting we receive when chatting with Ben, Michaela and Daniel of Zecca Handmade Pasta. They’re an Aussie family business based in Griffith, NSW, cooking up traditional Italian recipes passed down through generations.
After an extensive gastronomical, tastebud tantalising holiday to Europe, the trio returned to Australia with dreams of opening an Italian eatery – seeking a place to share their rich heritage, satisfy Aussie’s tummies and bring a taste of true regional Italian fare. After 10 years of living in Australia’s foodie capital — Melbourne — they jumped at the opportunity to move back to their hometown of Griffith and make their culinary dreams a reality. In 2016, Zecca Handmade Pasta was launched, and in 2021 they joined the My Chef family as one of our key suppliers.
We’re dedicated to local, farm-fresh produce at My Chef, and only work with suppliers that share our values. Zecca is equally committed to high-quality ingredients. “Seasonal and local – this is something we are quite pedantic about.” They have the winning combination of locally produced ingredients, a generous dose of Italian flavours, and a heap of love. As a family-owned business, you know they’re cooking from the heart, and so are we. It’s a food match made in heaven…or in this case, Wagga Wagga!
When we tried Zecca’s pasta for the first time, it was love at first bite. Proving popular, their fresh pasta now features in five of our 11 meals; our family favourite being the My Chef Pappardelle with Beef Ragu.
We launched in Harris Farm with the Beef Parpadelle, and within the first month of hitting the shelves, demand grew rapidly. We’ve since been asked to add five more dishes to the Harris Farm Range.
So why not pop down to your local store and pick up some pasta for dinner. And next time you’re passing through the Riverina Food Bowl, stop in and say “hi” to Ben, Michaela and Daniel at the Zecca Restaurant. We think it’s the best pasta around and from the meal reviews so far, it looks like you agree!
